Just another reason why Zima needs to go
I've seemed to miss this in the last few days. But like the malt beverage of the same name, Guy Zima is way past its prime. In a Green Bay Press-Gazette editorial, the paper calls out the worthless piece of crap out on his horrendous comment:
During a discussion about the mental health center Wednesday, Zima told Beth Manning, the county's director of human services, that he wasn't going to ecommend that she remain employed. When another supervisor pointed out that Manning was just following directions from County Executive Carol Kelso to uphold the downsizing agreement for the mental health center, Zima erupted.
"That's not the judgment of Nuremberg. They hung 12 there," said Zima in reference to the post-war trials that resulted in the execution of several high-ranking Nazi officials 60 years ago.
His comments were despicable and far below the minimum standard for any public official. It is outrageous that local political issues are compared to an event that followed the murder of millions of innocent people, including an estimated 6 million Jews.
They finish it up by saying this:
Zima's tongue has been irresponsible before. But this time, the entire Brown County Board should separate itself from such shameful conduct by rebuking him. If nothing is done, the silence would be telling.
It is telling...Brown County Board Chairman Tom Lund, or Vice Chair Jack Krueger for that matter, have yet to come out and publically condemn Zima for his comments. Makes you wonder if they support his comments.
Honestly, the Brown Couny Board continues to be a joke under this leadership. Their partisan attacks on Brown County Executive Carol Kelso have been misguided, their action on the budget are hurting the taxpayers, and most of all, they are the laughing stock of Northeastern Wisconsin. Now, I thought the Central Brown County Water Authority had hit a low in civility, but the Board's leadership takes the cake.
It is unfortunate that the citizens of Brown County have to wait a year and a half to bote out these clowns.
