"I'd rather sit and watch paint dry on the wall"

You never think about things like this, but every so often you get a shocker. An old high school friend sent me an e-mail Thursday night notifying one of our classmates died last weekprotecting our freedom in Iraq. U.S. Army Specialist Eric Clark died from a roadside IED near Baghdad. He was 22.

Eric was one of those crazy kids on the morning announcements, doing crazy things. You couldn't help either laughing really hard or just staring at the TV in awe, because he, along with his cohorts, did the some of the most outragous things. Everything we did at Indian Trail Academy was experimental and his work was no different. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel gave some insight in today's front-page story. It was spot on.

The blond high school boy with a dimpled chin and a sparkle in his mischievous eyes was obviously smirking at the camera while attempting to give his review of Shakespeare's plays.

"Look at his facial expressions," his sister Jade, 19, said, laughing. "He's such a cheese ball!" Clark's brother Evan, 12, laughed, too, as Clark described one play, "I'd rather sit and watch paint dry on the wall."

You can read the rest of the story here.
