Hello, and welcome!
Writing about myself has always made me uncomfortable. It takes a certain level of arrogance to be comfortable I think. But here goes.
I am a part-time aspiring sports photographer, wanna be bike racer, avid technology enthusiast, and full-time music lover.
I “race” cyclocross and gravel for the Gelbbrucke – Spirit of Sport club based on out Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am also the team photographer, team mechanic and tire guru.
As a result of a few season ending injuries on the bike, I’ve picked up the camera again. Teenage Jon had aspirations to be a photojournalist, but somehow life had other ideas. My primary interest is sports photography, specifically bike racing. I remmber all of those amazing photos I’d see every week in Sports Illustrated and think wow. I believe that single image can move people and hope that my work does the same. Interested in having me out at your event, connect with me on social media or send me an email below.
Another thing you might find on this site and on my social media is various projects or posts about technology and specifically retro tech. I remember back in 1998, I built my first website. Back in those days, it was coding HTML in Notepad on a Pentium I computer with a 233 MHz processor, 32 MB of RAM, a 4 GB hard drive and a 24X CD-ROM drive. Now it is a little bit different, but the principles are still there.
Finally, I believe in the power of music. Having a bad day, put on your favorite record. Have an anniversary of a major life event, put on a record that reminds you of that time period. Going to shows is a must do throughout the years. Having dance parties at bike races or at other events is also on the must do list.
